The happening area near Andheri Link Road saw a recent addition of another Restobar- Bottom’s up. It’s new and happening. Situated in Morya Landmark II, Bottom’s up has a good ambience with one striking iron wall which involves lot of detailing. The place is relatively small but it’s also an advantage if you want to book the entire place for a party and clear the tables for the dance floor.

Talking about the bar menu, it’s pretty much the regular bar fare and the classics like Watermelon Martini and Cosmopolitan were made nicely. In terms of food, they have tried a fusion way of mixing the traditional with the contemporary. This is evident in food items like Chana Jor Garam which is served in tin vessels; then there is assorted mix chatpata chaat which is a different variety of chakna served in paper cones resting in the cutting chai glasses which are kept in the similar hanger use by chaiwallas.

I also tried multiple starters/ small bites, here they are in the order of my preference. Macchi de Pakode with desi chips – I love seafood and especially order it when I’m eating out and this was the best dish on offer at Bottom’s up. The fish was nicely cooked with the outer coating fused with spices adding to the taste and the thick chips went well with the fried fish.

The second favourite was Mutton Tawa boti masala. Mutton cooked succulently in traditional spices garnished by coriander was served piping hot. Major points for the taste and how well cooked it was.

Third position was a tie between Masala Anda and Hari Mirch ka Paneer. Both were good but not wow. Masala Anda boasted of a good concept and an healthy option as you’re eating boiled egg white with a spoonful of cooked veggies and spices. However, I felt that there was too much of the egg white to balance the quantity of the masala topping. Similarly with Paneer, it was tasty but nothing extraordinary about it. It was cooked well and paneer was soft and tender.

I’ve also tried other items on the menu such as makhan masala garlic corn, smokey achari mushroom (which was actually a disappointment), roasted chicken sausage masala, none of which was remarkable.

The place picked up volume and speed later in the evening and is definitely a good place to let your hair down and have fun. Try it out and do share your opinion in the comment section below.
