Good news guys, Gomantak opened a restaurant in Bandra WEST. Yes, which means that I can now eat tasty affordable seafood close to home.

If you are from Mumbai, you must have heard of Gomantak and most likely must have eaten seafood here at least once. It might not be the best seafood that I have eaten but it’s good seafood at an amazing price.

I visited Bandra Gomantak yesterday unplanned. My friend found it on Zomato and after discussing the accuracy of maps and hoping to find the place at the turn that Google Maps claimed will lead us to newly opened Bandra Gomantak near Lilavati Hospital we found ourselves sitting in this restaurant which opened just 10 days ago. We visited the place quite early and was the only patrons there for about 20 minutes after which it was fully occupied.

In no time we were flooded by the servers eager to take our order and make our meal and experience a better one. Don’t judge me but the first thing that we order was Manchow soup. I blame the choice on the pleasant Mumbai weather and my low tolerance to cold. The soup was hot, thick, spicy and tasty.

Next up was Pomfret thali and special veg thali. I was feeling quite experimental yesterday. Needless to say, the thali’s were amazing and the food was tasty. Servers were very attentive and service was quick. There isn’t much in terms of ambience but then when you are busy eating who has time to notice the walls and the lack of posters or adornments.

Go here for food and food only. I’m just glad that now Gomantak is in Bandra West. Have you been to Gomantak? Share your experience in comments below.
